Events Following King Solomon (34)

3183    Jeroboam divides Israel by leading 10-tribes to form The House of Israel; which left 1-tribe to remain as the House of Judah.  The prophesy of Abijah the Shilonite was fulfilled one year later upon the death of Solomon (34) in 3184.

3184    Rehoboam (35) is crowned King of Judah.

The division of Israel into The House of Israel (10-tribes) and the House of Judah (1-tribe, Judah).  1 Kings 11 is a summary of the downfall of Solomon (34), how God dealt with Solomon (34) and the prophesy of  Abijah the Shilonite.  King Solomon (34) reigned 40-years over Israel from 3144 to 3184.

The TIME - LINE continues through both the House of Israel and the House of Judah.  2 Kings and 2 Chronicles both have conflecting verses with regard to an era.  The House of Israel establishes the beginning year of the next king's reign as the year following the death of the current king.  There are exceptions to this rule as is the case of Jeroboam, the first King of the House of Israel which began the rear before the death of Solomon (34).  The House of Judah uses the same year that the king dies and the assention year of the new king.  Confussion is added when statements are made referred to the time of the king in one house citing the year of an event in the other house.

2 KINGS 13

3321    1 - In the three and twentieth year of Joash the son of Ahaziah king of Judah Jehoahaz the son of Jehu began to reign over Israel in Samaria, [and reigned] seventeen years.

It can be seen from this example, that a method must be applied to resolve conflecting Time-Line issues.  I developed a method using Excel to to balance the time lines of both houses.  For a given period of years the kings of both houses reign for an (almost) equal period of years.

The first time span considered is 58-years for the House of Judah is from 3184 to 3242.  A parallel time span of 59-years is for the House of Israel, from 3183 to 3242.

  • Kings of the House of Judah are:  Rehoboam (35), Abijam (36), unto the 38th year of Asa (37).
  • Kings of the House of Israel are:  Jeroboam, Nahab, Baasha, Elah, Zimri, Tibni,

Kings of Judah and Israel 3183 to 3242

The following time span is 42-years

Kings of Judah and Israel 3242 to 3284

The following time span is 158-years

Kings of Judah and Israel 3284 to 3442

The next time from 3284 to about 3442 my not solve the deleima of either the lost Kings of Israel or kings of Judah that reigned together.

The time span begins in 3284, the 7th year of Jeru (39), King of Israel and the son of Johoshaphat (38).   The time span ends in 3442 during the 5th-Years of King  Hezekiah (46).  I have suggested that King Zachariah ruled the House of Israel for14-years, whereas 3 Kings 15: 8 states that he ruled over Israel 6-Months in Samaria.  Quite often a Kings rule concurrently and it may be that Zacariah or another King ruled for 14-years.  Zachariah by have ruled 14-years in excile (Samaria of Eqypt) while the named Kings of Israel ruled in areas outside of Jerusalem. I make the suggestion to balance the years of Kings rule with the years tha elapsed.  My best effort (Slvan)
